Once again, our member RadiSys invites you to attend their yearly traditional Technology Day. The event will be held on July 2nd at the Airport Business Centre in Hallbergmoos (just a stone's throw away from the Munich airport). This year's motto will be: "Integrating Open Embedded Systems: Trends for the Coming Decade" - Applied Research and its Practical Application in Innovative Solutions - As in previous years, the Technology Day offers great opportunities to get up to date information on new developments in embedded technology and make valuable contacts. A selection of the topics: - SPES 2020
- Hardware: highly integrated "system on modules", multicore systems with hypervisor technology
- internal and external communications: modern system and field buses (e g. EtherCAT)
- system software: integrating operating systems and middleware
- open development environments: design and integration tools
- test and verification: running complex systems
Besides a multitude of other speakers our press secretary Dipl.-Ing. Robert Schachner and ourdirectors Peter Schuller and Vollrath Dirksen will be referring about "data centric models - key to future oriented embedded systems design", "SPES 2020 - research and industry creating innovative solutions - networks complement solutions" and "connecting system worlds - migrating PCI, cPCI and PMC based applications to MicroTCA". The official website for the Technoloy Day (including the full agenda and a registration form) is available here. We are looking forward to meeting you there and discussing new possibilities in embedded technology with you in person. Please note that all keynotes and presentations will be held in German. |

The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF) has founded the collaborative project "Software Platform Embedded Systems 2020" (SPES 2020). This large-scale research and development subsidy program will unite universities and and research centers (led by the University of Technology of Munich) with commercial industry players in an effort to combine competences and allow sygergetic effects. One of the goals of the collaboration will be the development of a uniform, domain-spanning method of designing embedded systems. An important step on the way to this goal is the switch from operating system-dependent individual programming to a model-based cross-platform workflow. This not only allows more flexibility in porting applications, but also significant cost and time reductions in code generation and quality control. Our member RST Industrie Automation GmbH offers a successful solution on this sector with its platform-independent development suite "GAMMA". |
