The digitalisation of industrial production (“Industry 4.0”) not only leads to improved benefits through intelligent control and optimisation of systems, but also to new types of threats to production security. With this expert talk, the Secure Bayern e.V. association offers an insight into the mode of action of some attacks on the IT systems used in production. The following topics will be discussed as examples
- Firmware versions and vulnerabilities on industrial control units (ICS)
- Attack vectors for cloud applications
- Man-in-the-middle attacks
will be analysed. Based on current threat scenarios, the experts will explain specific attack mechanisms and defence options.
